A "Goons" Apology, Sort of....

More on the "goons and thugs" remarks by CNN commentator Jack Cafferty. He gave a rambling, semi-coherent populist rant preceding the remark (see here for a transcript), which included something about exporting jobs to a Shangri-la-ish place where workers are paid 'a dollar a month.' Anyway, for the record, on April 14, on the same program (The Situation Room) he did apologize,........ sort of:

Last week, during a discussion of the controversy surrounding China's hosting of the Olympic Games, I said that the Chinese are basically the same bunch of goons and thugs they have been for the last 50 years. I was referring to the Chinese government, and not to Chinese people or to Chinese-Americans.

I guess this more or less falls into the category I mentioned below, crticizing the government, not the people.

So, end of controversy, right? LOL
