Daily commentary about China by TIME correspondents.
Like the Olympics, but with Lingerie
You might not know it, but we at the China Blog have a deep interest in fashion. And so it was out of a sense of duty that I went to the Triumph Inspiration Award lingerie show in Beijing's 798 art district this afternoon. The event was the finals of a global contest to design "inspiring lingerie," which strikes me as an oxymoron. Designers from 31 countries participated, and I held a camera above my head so you can see the results. Sure, my arms hurt afterward, but that's a sacrifice I was willing to make. I was inspired.
