Not So Much Gold in China's Scrap
Here's a postcard I wrote about the problems recyclers in Beijing are facing due to the falling value of scrap metal, paper, plastic and so on. When I ask the junk men in my neighborhood how business is these days, they all complain about low prices and the blame the U.S. financial crisis. Yet another unexpected repercussion of globalization.

Looks everyone in China knows the US financial crisis. But due to their busy daily work, those recyclers may be just taking the view of the media. And no mater how sad they are, they never go so far to think about how to let the US to pay the bill for them, so they are not so smart as the US who is trying to spread the “wealth” to the world. They just take what their loss as it is and try to make up with harder work.
